Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician

Your tasks

  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications and work orders in order to determine materials requirements and assembly procedure
  • Assemble electrical systems and support structures. Position, align and install subassemblies, wiring and components such as transformers, PLCs, and relays on enclosure panels
  • Drill and tap holes, crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, solders, press fits or performs similar operations to join or secure parts, mount control units, and to provide openings for elements, wiring, and instruments using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment
  • Routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in wiring installations and equipment. Measure and adjust voltages to specified values to determine operational accuracy of components or assemblies
  • Use testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure proper equipment operation and system safety
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic components to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cabinets and enclosures
  • Mark and tag components, wiring and connections to identify circuits and assemblies

Your skills

  • Ability to read electrical schematics, engineering sketches and bill of materials
  • Knowledge of electrical principles
  • Electrical wire and cable routing skills and the understanding of standard wiring workmanship as it pertains to quality
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and automated machine functions
  • Knowledge and understanding of PLC's
  • Knowledge and understanding of HMIs
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products using pressure, mechanical, or electronic testing equipment
  • Determine if own work is complete and correct as specified by instructions, drawings and specifications. Work alone/independently. Coordinate daily tasks with others to align priorities for smooth assembly operations
  • Knowledge of safe working practices, emergency procedures and possible dangerous situations

Additional information

Education /Certificates

  • 3-5 years experience in the practical application of electronics and technology
  • 3-5 years of electrical design/build/troubleshooting of pneumatic and/or hydraulic assembly machinery preferred
  • 3-5 years of basic PLC operation in machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • High School diploma or GED

Personal Ability

  • Ability to pass background check

Position Status

40 hours per week, ability to accommodate overtime as needed

Time

7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday
